Mansard
A traditional choice. The roofline is extended outwards with a shallow and a steep slope, giving far more headroom inside. Usually finished with dormer windows to bring in natural light.
More room in the home you already love, without the upheaval of moving.
On average, an extra bedroom and en-suite adds around 21% to a home’s value.
Little disruption, and most projects are finished in 4–6 weeks.
Most lofts fall under permitted development. Where it’s needed, we handle it.
No stamp duty, no estate agent fees, no chain. Don’t move on, move up.
We breathe new light and life into tired loft space – adding Velux or dormer windows with a tailor-made finish that suits the character of your home. From a small attic room to a bedroom, en-suite or home office, our team has the experience and the kit to do it properly, bespoke staircase included.
Every project is designed around you, to get the most usable space out of your roof.
Thinking of moving just to get an extra room? A loft conversion is usually the cheaper, less stressful option – and it adds value to the home you’ve already got.
Most UK loft conversions can be built without planning permission under ‘permitted development’ rights, as long as the work meets the criteria in the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. That covers most Velux and many dormer conversions. Where your BCP or Dorset council does need to be involved, we deal with them for you before work starts.
Whether you want an extra bedroom, an office or more storage, we build loft conversions across Ringwood, Lymington, Ferndown, Verwood and beyond. These are the three types we’re asked about most.

The roofline is built up and out at the end of the house to form a gable. It adds a lot of floor space and allows large windows for light and ventilation.
One of the most popular options. The sloping hipped end is built up into a vertical gable, creating plenty of volume – ideal for a large bedroom or an en-suite.
“From start to finish we were very well looked after… As a family of 4 we were bursting at the seams in our bungalow, the only thing we regret is having not called World of Lofts sooner.”
“Sam and Dave (who run the show) are great – clearly priced the work, incredibly communicative throughout – leaving us pictures on WhatsApp at the end of every day with an update.”
“Very pleased with the work carried out by WOL. Time and cost as quoted and nothing was too much trouble… Can’t wait to use our lovely new space!”
We build loft conversions right across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.
